A peep into our feeling of indispensability at leadership level
Sometimes when you are feeling important,
Sometimes when your ego is in bloom,
Sometimes when you take things for granted
You are the best qualified in the room
Sometimes when you feel that your going
Would leave an unfilled hole
Just follow these simple instructions
And see how it humbles your soul.
Take a bucket and fill it with water
Put your hand in it up to the wrist
Hold maximum water you can hold in the hand
Pull it out and hold that’s remaining
Is the measure of how much you are missed.
You may splash all you please when you enter,
You can stir up the water galore
But stop, and you will find in a minute,
That it looks quite the same as before.
The moral in this quaint experiment is
Do the best that you can,
Be proud of yourself, but remember,
There is no indispensable person.
